Trackline – Robohacks 2019

Trackline is a project developed under 24 hours for a Hackathon competition hosted by Robohacks.

Trackline is a portable panning shot solution for cameras. Equipped with Computer Vision, the system can track a specified target and keep it in frame by sliding on a wire via a motorized chassis.

OpenCV was used to track an object or person. Behind the smooth motions, a robust PI control system was also tuned by creating a model of the motor using simulink and step responses. Finally to hold everything together, the chassis was carefully designed on Siemens NX CAD software with weight distribution, weight relief, stability and easy assembly in mind.
