McGill Engineering Competition 2017

The McGill Engineering Competition’s Senior Design is 8 hours project where students have to build, program and demo a working prototype that will meet requirements disclosed during the day of the competition. Participants will be judged on the relevance and originality of their project as well as their ability to present it to the public and the judges.

For the 2017’s competition, our team had to build an autonomous robot capable of localizing itself in a 5 by 5 meter platform and pickup ping-pong and golf balls placed at specific areas. Our robot was the only fully autonomous taking advantage of ultrasonic sensors, localization and detection algorithms.
