HomeScan – McHacks 2018

HomeScan is a project developed under 24 hours for a Hackathon competition hosted by McHacks.

HomeScan is a solution for infrastructure monitoring. The user can use an intelligent bot to ask about the condition of his/her house from a distance.

Data such as ambient air temperature, humidity, fluids temperature or even gas leak detection are gathered and sent to an Amazon Web Service database using a Particle Electron board with cellular connectivity. The database is then used by a Cisco Spark bot according to the user’s requests. Another bot is also checking for abnormal activities and warns the user of potential harm.

Awards:

  • Cisco: Best use of Cisco Spark API
  • Deloitte: Best pitch
